Cloud Office Environment

The Cloud Office enables communications over your existing internet connection. It runs on the desktop platforms you use every day (Windows XP and newer, OSX snow leopard and newer) so you can use your current computer. Access the Cloud Office Environment anytime by clicking the link below, username and password is not required.

WindowsSteps to access Cloud Office Environment on Windows XP (and newer) computers

  1. Download (or update) and install Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Open Firefox and visit Java Download and install it.  Enable the security settings if prompted.
  3. Keep Firefox open and visit Flash Download and install it.  If Flash is already installed and up-to-date it will tell you so.
  4. Close Firefox and open it again to allow Java and Flash to finalize their install.
  5. Plug in your USB Headset into the computer if you have one.
  6. Go to the Cloud Office Environment and the office plugin will take a minute or two to install in Firefox and refresh itself.
  7. Allow the plugin in the top right near or in the address bar.  It will look like a puzzle piece or lego with a line through it.
  8. If you have a username and password enter it at this time otherwise enter your name and click the Log In button. A username and password is not required.

  • Recommended CPU/Memory: 1.5 GHz Dual Core/2GB RAM
  • Intel 945 integrated graphics or better
  • Broadband network connection (regular cable/DSL is fine)
  • Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP
  • Internet Explorer 6/7/8/9 or Firefox 3/3.5 or Google Chrome and Adobe Flash
  • USB headset recommended

MAC OSSteps to access Cloud Office Environment on MAC OSX (and newer) computers

  1. Newer MACS have Gate Keeper that may prevent the install of the environment.  Set Gate Keeper to allow Applications can be downloaded from anywhere. Tutorial.
  2. Open Safari and visit Java Download and install it. Enable the security settings if prompted.
  3. Keep Safari open and visit Flash Download and install it. If Flash is already installed and up-to-date it will tell you so.
  4. Close Safari and open it again to allow the Java and Flash plugin to work.
  5. Plugin USB Headset into the computer if you have one.
  6. Go to the Cloud Office Environment and the office plugin will take a minute or two to install in Firefox and refresh itself.
  7. Allow the plugin to run.
  8. If you have a username and password enter it at this time otherwise enter your name and click the Log In button. A username and password is not required.

  • Broadband network connection (regular cable/DSL is fine)
  • Minimum OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or higher
  • Minimum Safari 5.1 or higher
  • USB headset recommended

How to navigate and communicate

The office uses the microphone in your computer and the speakers to play sounds. As soon as you enter the Cloud Office Environment, you can hear other users but are initially muted. To ensure that you can speak at your regular volume so that others can hear you in the environment, set the volume controls on your computer appropriately. For best audio using a USB Headset is recommended. Navigation Keys
  • Use the W key to move in the direction that your cursor is pointing.
  • Use the S key to move backwards.
  • Use the D key to move right.
  • Use the A key to move left.
  • Use the Spacebar to jump.
